We will look at the federal and state court systems, criminal and civil law, tort laws, elements of legal contracts and contract law; legal aspects of the insurance industry, basic insurance-related legal terminology, and concepts and doctrines are presented in this course. The duties and principles that affect investigation, evaluation and disposition of insurance claims as well as typical court procedures that may occur when a claim is legated are also discussed .
